| Michel Benoit was born in Paris, and has lived there all his life. His parents died when he was a child, and he was raised in a convent. The items he inherited from his parents (the Théâtre de Benoit on the Rue de la Victoire, a house in the 9th arrondissement, and a substantial amount of money) were held for him in trust by the nuns until he came of age. The nuns were kind to him, and he repays them by giving them a small tithe monthly and volunteering at their shelter a handful of nights each month. He views the actors and stagehands at the Théâtre, many of whom worked for his father, as his family, and he treats them accordingly. As the war drags on, he keeps them employed, paying them out of his own pocket when the night's takings do not cover their wages. He writes whatever he can when he has the time: plays, short stories, articles for local papers, novels; and any money earned from them goes towards the theater and his staff. |
| Character Basics |
| Appearance: Michel is tall, hitting 6'2", and he keeps himself in shape. He is smooth and confident in his movements, and knows how to dress his body well. His hair and eyes are a dark brown, and he often has a small amount of scruff on his face from forgetting to shave in the morning. Personality: Michel is loyal to those who have earned it, but he is slightly wary of those who have not. He often views people as sources of entertainment, especially in social situations. He is mildly sarcastic most of the time. Michel views men and women as equally attractive in their own right, and doesn't feel the need to restrain himself to one or the other sex, but he is cautious not to display this tendency in public, especially with the current regime. Strengths: Loyalty. A way with paper and pen. Weaknesses: He will put others ahead of him, even to his own detriment. His sarcastic comments and smooth manner may be offputting to those who do not know him. Skills/Abilities: Can talk his way out of many situations. Has a keen business sense, even if he ignores it at times. |
